the GazettE - one of the most popular bands on the label PS Company, which recorded bands such as Kagrra, and alice nine ... Despite the fact that the foundation of their music - rock, they are not afraid to experiment with their sound, singing ballads, and aggressive songs with elements of punk rock, and sometimes even hip-hop. The GazettE - this visual artist, whose appearance varies from single to single and from album to album, but their sound is always «Gazette» and rock.

(Note: When the group was formed, the GazettE was simply called Gazette and in the future, in his biography, they will be called so until such time as the band changed its official name.)


Gazette began in early 2002 as part of the five persons who , despite his youth, he has already had experience in the music scene. Three of them work together in previous groups (Ma'die Kusse and Kar + te = zyAnose); Ruki,vocalist,one of the guitarists - Uruha and Bassist Reita. Two ex-member Arita,guitarist Aoi and drummer Yune,completed early composition. By signing a contract with the record label Matina, they released their first single Wakaremechi, as well as video on VHS in April before starting to promote their name on a variety of activities and glow in the coming collections. It worked, and in December of that year, the band played their first solo concert. And at the end of the year they took part in the «FINAL PRELUDE 2002 ~ 2003 Matina PRESENTS», after which the Matina label was dissolved.


When the beginning of 2003, Yune announced his retirement from the Gazette. He was immediately replaced by Kai (ex-member Mareydi † Creia), and the band signed with the label PS Company. They went to their first real tour with indies band Hanamuke and released their first Soup, Cockaynemini-album,for which, surprisingly, was followed by another 2 mini-albums in the next 2 months. All year the band continued to tour together, such as 2003's Beauti-Fool's Fest,speaking with Merry and D'espairsRay.


When I came in 2004, Gazette mark the end of the year, giving a solo concert at Shibuya AX (which was later released on DVD), and opened their official fan club. Toward the end of the year the band released a second live DVD and give the fans what they have been waiting for almost 2 years - their first full album, Disorder.In December, they again participated in the annual Beauti-Fool's Fest and gave a small concert tour.

In 2005, Gazette practically lived in the bus or on the stage, constant touring around the country. In between rounds, they released a couple of things and their first photobook «Verwelktes Gedicht»,went on sale in September. Finally, the band took a short break until December, after which they took part in the tour «PEACE & SMILE CARNIVAL TOUR 2005",organized by their label and released the single Cassis,which has become the latest release issued by them under the name Gazette.


2006 proved to be extremely busy for the Gazette. The name change to the "Gazette", written in Japanese characters, to the GazettE, which has already been written in English. Year the group has been releasing a new album, Nil.They immediately began a massive tour, spanning all of Japan with over thirty shows. The tour ended with a concert at Nippon Budokan, one of the largest concert venues in Japan, which were sold out. In late July, the band appeared for the first time in Europe, in Germany, to the delight of their fans. Later, in October, an English version of their official website.

They finished 2006 and entered 2007 with even more saturated schedule of tours and new singles before announcing the release of a new album in the summer of STACKED RUBBISH, and two, walking, almost one after the other tours. The first round, which began in July, lasted the summer and autumn, and the second round closed during the winter months. To the delight of his numerous European fans, the GazettE also decided to return to Europe and announced a short tour in October in Germany, France, Finland and England.


Their next single, Guren, was released in early 2008, and topped the charts Oricon. Due to the fact that the group has become incredibly popular, and increased promotional campaign in support of the next release of LEECH special black buses traveled the fashionable places of Japan, showing a promotional video on the screens, built-in window. Also, the single issue of an alleged secret speech in front of Shinjuku Station, which has gathered more than 7000 people, instead of the expected 250. For security reasons, the police had to stop the performance after the second song.

The year 2009 began with the announcement of the release of a new single DISTRESS AND COMA, which marked the 7th birthday of the GazettE and the 10th anniversary of PS COMPANY. In January, the GazettE played on Peace & Smile Carnival 2009 at the Nippon Budokan together with other groups, collaborating with PS COMPANY. Concert DVD on sale in 3 months. After exiting DISTRESS AND COMA for fans who purchased it, the next draw comprising Seen special event with the GazettE.

Furthermore, in addition to Kai 'Gazette Kai's Premium Radio' and Reita 'Radio Jack', also appeared at Aoi broadcast 'HOLLY HOCK RADIO' lasting 30 minutes, which leaves every Saturday at Aichi FM.

July 15, 2009 was released a new album «Dim», and then the band went on another Japanese tour. End of which is held at Saitama Super Arena, September 5. Single «Before I Decay» was released on October 7 of the same year.


March 17, 2010, followed by a national tour called «Standing Live Tour 10 (The End of Stillness)». July 21 this year, released the single - «SHIVER». After «The GazettE» announced their new tour «NAMELESS LIBERTY SIX BULLETS», which took place in Tokyo Dome. The same group, on September 22 released the single - «RED». May 25, 2011, the band released a new single titled «Vortex». August 31 the same year, - the single «Remember the Urge» A September 18, 2011, «The Gazette» performed at the «Inazuma Rock Festival». 5 October, the band released a new album called «Toxic» and video «Live Tour 11 Venomous Cell.». And from October 10th to the end of the year, the group took a tour called «Tour 11-12 Venomous Cell -the Finale- Omega which ended in Yokohama Arena.


March 10, 2012, in the final speech of the tour «Venomous Cell», «The Gazette held a 10th anniversary concert titled «Standing Live 2012 10th Anniversary -The Decade-» at Messe Makuhari. And just as was announced the release of the new album «Division», the release of which is scheduled for August 29 this year. This album will also be distributed during the tour «Live Tour 12 -Division- Groan of Diplosomia 01", which will begin on October 8 and will end November 29, 2012.

After the final concert of their 11th anniversary celebrations, the Gazette announced their plans for 2013. Firstly, they released a DVD featuring footage from the aforementioned performance. Titled Live Tour 12-13 Division Final Melt, the DVD came out on June 26, 2013.

The band also released new single, titled "Fadeless", in August and new album, titled Beautiful Deformity, in October 23. The GazettE also announced a tour to promote these new releases. Titled The Gazette Live Tour13 Beautiful Deformity Magnificent Malformed Box, it started on November 2 and finished on December 28.

As part of their world tour September 2013, the Gazette returned to Europe for concerts. In September, the band went to four Latin American countries: Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. They did two shows in France, two in Germany and one in Finland.


During 2014, the GazettE held a trilogy of tours entitled "Redefinition" dedicated to their past albums and limited to Heresy members only. In March 2014, they held concerts showcasing Disorder and NIL ("Nameless Liberty Disorder Heaven"), July saw a second tour for Stacked Rubbish and DIM ("Pulse Wriggling to Dim Scene"), and a final tour in November entitled "Groan of Venomous Cell" hosting songs from Toxic and Division. This tour began on the day of the band's 12th anniversary, and was dedicated to the work they have achieved together over the last decade. During the first show of "Groan of Venomous Cell", Ruki announced that all 3 Redefinition tours are to be published in a DVD box entitled "STANDING LIVE TOUR14 HERESY LIMITED — 再 定 義 — COMPLETE BOX", which will be released on 2015.03.11.

On December 24, 2014 Sony released Film Bug lll, featuring the GazettE's newest Music Video, To Dazzling Darkness.

On March 10, 2015 the GazettE held their 13th anniversary at Nippon Budokan. They also opened a special exhibition divided on panels in which they displayed members' instrument models, showed the band's history and placed a message board where fans could write a message to the band. The exhibition was open for everyone even for fans who didn't attend the concert.

After their 13th anniversary, the GazettE announced a musical cycle called "Project: Dark Age" consisting of a 13 movements including the overture and a grand finale. The 1st movement is their latest album Dogma. The 2nd movement is a tour promoting their latest album. The tour is titled "Dogmatic -Un-". The 3rd movement is a single called Ugly. The release date was November 18, 2015. The 4th movement is another tour called "Dogmatic -Due-". It started on December 1, 2015 and ended on January 24, 2016. The 5th movement was revealed on last year's December to be the DOGMATIC tour final, which was held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on February 28, 2016. The 6th movement was revealed on the same day to be another single release entitled Undying. It was released on April 27, 2016.

Following this in the "Dogmatic" tour the Gazette went to the U.S. and Canada for the first time in their careers for live performances as the 7th movement. After the U.S. and Canada, the band is touring in Taiwan and China (as the 8th Movement) and in France, Germany, Finland and Russia (as the 9th Movement). The 10th movement is announced to be the release of the DVD containing the "Dogmatic -Final-" live following the announcement of the 11th movement to be a standing live tour inside Japan. The tour is titled "Dogmatic -Another Fate-".

The Gazette performed at Knotfest Japan in November 2016.
